Hypnotherapy for you
Hypnotherapy works in a safe way to utilise breathing and physical relaxation techniques and goes on to relax the mind. It’s at this point that relaxation enables the hypnotherapist to access the sub-conscious part of the mind where it is open to accept the suggestions for positive change.
Clients often say it is the most relaxing way to change your life. I work on an individual basis with clients to help them resolve many life limiting or unwanted behaviours, fears, phobias, habits or feelings that are preventing them from moving on in their life. Many people have issues that seriously affect their lives and a lot of them stem from previous experiences which they may have forgotten or are completely unaware of. This can result in your mind not being in the right place, which stops us from moving forward because we keep repeating the same old, negative patterns of behaviour of the past.
Hypnotherapy can be a fast and effective way to change an enormous range of issues. Some of the more well known ones are to quit smoking, weight loss, anxiety including panic attacks, fear phobias, public speaking and anger management. Many of the problems people face can be a massive burden to them and the NHS recognises the positive benefits of hypnotherapy for helping to eliminate these issues and conditions from peoples lives.
As a secondary school teacher with over 20 years experience, I specialise in working with children and young people. With the increased pressure from schools now on achievement, I found that the emphasis has gone from caring for children and young people to producing good results at school through constant assessment, revision and more assessment. I now enjoy working in a comfortable, relaxed, productive way where both my clients and their parents can see the benefits of hypnotherapy. What I notice is that once your child or young adult is more happy and content in themselves, their achievement and ultimately their results improve, almost as a side issue because they feel in a more happy and content place, a great result all round!
During our first session together, we will chat about how your issue affects your life, how long you’ve been feeling like this and how we can work together to give you the right support.
We will then begin with some relaxation and breathing exercises to relax you into a nice, calm relaxed state where you will begin to feel more comfortable and open to suggestions which will change the way you respond to whatever it is which is affecting your life.
So for example, if you have a fear or phobia, I will talk about how life could be improved without those negative feelings attached to it. Also we will visualise how life will be without those feelings of anxiety & worry and how much better you will feel following each session.
It’s normal to feel a bit anxious or scared about having hypnotherapy, but it is a completely comfortable and safe environment. I work in a very relaxed way to put you at ease right from the very beginning of the process.
I am registered with The National Hypnotherapy Society, working within strict codes of conduct and ethical guidelines. I have enhanced DBS clearance to work with vulnerable adults and children and have public liability insurance.
